On Saturday, the Israeli military announced the killing of two senior officials from Hamas’ military wing in Lebanon.
According to an official statement, the Israeli army, in cooperation with the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), carried out airstrikes targeting key Hamas figures. Earlier today, Israeli fighter jets eliminated Mohammad Hussein Ali Al-Mahmoud, identified as a key operational commander for Hamas in Lebanon, who was responsible for directing terrorist operations in the West Bank.
In a separate joint operation in the Tripoli region of Lebanon, the Israeli military and Shin Bet killed another prominent Hamas military commander, Saeed Alaa Naif Ali. Ali was responsible for orchestrating attacks on Israeli targets and recruiting new members into Hamas ranks within Lebanon.
The Israeli military emphasized that these operations were part of an ongoing effort to weaken Hamas’ ability to conduct terrorist activities against Israel. The military’s statement confirmed that the elimination of these two individuals represents a significant blow to Hamas’ operational capabilities in Lebanon.
Hamas confirmed the deaths of its military leaders following Israeli airstrikes in the Bekaa Valley and Tripoli.
In recent weeks, Israel has sharply escalated its strikes in Lebanon after nearly a year of sporadic exchanges of fire with the Lebanese Hezbollah group. While the conflict was largely concentrated along the Israel-Lebanon border, it has intensified parallel to Israel’s ongoing conflict with Hamas in Gaza.
