The Iraqi Red Crescent Society announced on Saturday that it has sent a shipment of medical supplies and medicines to Lebanon via Iraqi Air Force planes.
The aid aims to support Lebanese hospitals in response to recent events in the country.
In a statement, the Iraqi Red Crescent emphasized that the shipment contains essential medical supplies for treating various injuries and emergencies.
The supplies are intended to assist doctors in emergency care, intensive care units, and operating rooms.
This assistance follows a series of tragic incidents earlier in the week, when “pager” communication devices exploded in several Hezbollah strongholds across Lebanon. These explosions resulted in the deaths of 37 people and thousands of injuries.
Lebanon’s Health Minister later announced that the death toll from the pager explosions on Tuesday and Wednesday, combined with the Israeli airstrike on Friday, had risen to 70.
Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attacks, stating that the perpetrators were attempting to provoke a large-scale war in the region.
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati praised the significant role played by the Ministry of Health in managing the crisis.
Despite the immense pressure, the ministry responded swiftly and professionally to the aftermath of the pager explosions, providing care for the thousands of injured citizens.
