Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region, welcomed Iraqi Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Safiya Talib Al-Suhail, and Chairman of the Iraqi-Saudi Friendship and Brotherhood Committee in the House of Representatives, Shalan Al-Karim. The meeting, attended by Ibrahim Al-Qannas, Chairman of the Saudi-Iraqi Friendship Committee in the Saudi Shura Council, focused on strengthening bilateral relations.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted Ambassador Al-Suhail’s praise for the progress in bilateral relations, driven by the senior leadership in both countries. She noted Saudi Arabia’s increasing openness to Iraq and its growing investments, alongside the Kingdom’s economic renaissance.
Sheikh Shaalan Al-Karim expressed gratitude for the reception the committee received during its visit, invited by the Saudi Shura Council’s counterpart committee. He reviewed the meetings held by the committee delegation and emphasized the significant development in relations between the two countries, supported by the Friendship Committee’s efforts.
Prince Faisal praised the development of relations and the remarkable achievements of Ambassador Al-Suhail in enhancing bilateral coordination since she assumed her duties in Riyadh about a year ago. He wished success for the Iraqi-Saudi Friendship and Brotherhood Committee and its counterpart in the Saudi Shura Council, hoping their work would establish clear mechanisms to achieve tangible results. He emphasized overcoming any obstacles hindering joint efforts and encouraged continued visits between the two countries at all levels to achieve desired outcomes.
