Iraq’s Minister of Electricity, Engineer Ziad Ali Fadil, has called upon Egyptian companies to invest in Iraq’s power sector, announcing that the government will soon reveal a new investment plan for the Ministry of Electricity. The plan will significantly increase the rate of production by introducing a variety of new projects.

During an exclusive interview hosted by media presenter Dalia Abu Amira on the ‘Cairo News’ channel, the Minister disclosed that several significant contracts have been signed with Siemens. These agreements, lasting for five years, aim to modernize electrical units, rehabilitate production units, and establish new power stations across all Iraqi provinces.

“We are currently in Egypt to meet with several companies and invite them to participate according to the investment map. We aim to utilize the expertise of Egyptian companies operating in the renewable energy sector in order to reduce our dependency on gas, which is a concern for the Iraqi government,” Fadil stated.

The Iraqi Minister of Electricity has extended an invitation to all Egyptian companies and investors to participate in the investment map, with the goal of forging genuine economic partnerships between the two nations.
