Iran warned Israel on Sunday of “unforeseen consequences” if it undertakes new military actions in Lebanon. This comes as Israel vowed a harsh response to a Hezbollah rocket attack that killed 12 children in Majdal Shams, a Druze town.
Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani stated that any “ignorant action” by Israel could escalate instability and war in the region, holding Israel responsible for the consequences of such actions.
The Israel Defense Forces targeted several Hezbollah sites overnight Saturday, including weapon depots and infrastructure near Tyre and southern Lebanon.
Iran also supports the Hamas group in Gaza, which has been in conflict with Israel since October 7, when terrorists killed about 1,200 people and took 251 hostages in a cross-border assault. Additionally, Iran backs Houthi rebels in Yemen and militias in Iraq and Syria, all of which have targeted Israel and its allies since the war began.
