The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Thursday, the completion of its operation to evacuate its nationals from Niger. This news was reported in a breaking news update from “Al-Qahera Al-Youm News Channel”.

Paris justified the evacuation decision due to “the violent acts that targeted its embassy last Sunday, and the closing of the airspace that deprived its citizens of any possibility to leave the country by their own means.”

It is noteworthy that France had previously welcomed the decisions made by the leaders of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) during their meeting in Abuja. These leaders have called for the immediate restoration of the constitutional order in Niger and the return of President Mohamed Bazoum, who was elected by the people.
