Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed his gratitude to US billionaire Elon Musk for supporting the UAE field hospital in Gaza with SpaceX’s Starlink internet service.

On the X platform, Sheikh Abdullah said, “Thanks Elon Musk for supporting the UAE field hospital in Gaza,” responding to a tweet from Elon Musk. Musk’s tweet stated, “Starlink is now active in a Gaza hospital with the support of UAE media office and Israel.”

Elon Musk responded to Sheikh Abdullah’s gratitude with a reply in Arabic, saying, “You are welcome.”

In March, the “Gallant Knight 3” operation began providing Starlink satellite internet services at the UAE Field Hospital. This initiative aimed to facilitate real-time video conferencing for life-saving medical consultations and ensure high standards of medical care in the Gaza Strip.

The high-speed internet from Starlink will enable crucial medical consultations via real-time video calling, as stated by the UAE foreign ministry in February.

Due to poor internet connectivity in Gaza caused by power and fuel shortages at provider centers, medical staff and rescue teams face difficulties, limiting hospital services and the health ministry’s centralized system. The introduction of Starlink aims to alleviate these challenges and improve medical care in the region.
