A drone launched from Lebanon exploded in the border town of Metula, northern Israel, according to Hebrew media reports.

The Israeli military is currently verifying these reports, as stated by “Times of Israel” on Sunday.

There have been no reported injuries from the explosion, although there are some damages, initial reports from the German news agency indicate.

Some reports also suggest that the drone exploded before any warning sirens were triggered.

This incident follows recent airstrikes conducted by Israeli aircraft on Saturday evening, targeting several areas in eastern Lebanon.

The Israeli army reported on Saturday that approximately 55 rockets were launched from Lebanon into northern Israel, specifically targeting the Upper Galilee region, according to reports.

The army’s statement revealed that around 35 of these rockets were detected following alarms in Upper Galilee. While some were intercepted, most landed in open areas, causing no injuries.

Earlier, about 20 rockets were fired from Lebanon, some of which were intercepted, while others also landed in open areas, again resulting in no injuries.

The daily newspaper Maariv noted that Hezbollah launched 20 rockets at Safed and the nearby village of Akbara in the southern part of the city. Safed, located about 41 kilometers (25.5 miles) from the Israeli-Lebanese border, also endured rocket attacks on Friday night.
