In a significant move to bolster healthcare in the Gaza Strip, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has dispatched a fleet of fully-equipped ambulances to the Egyptian city of Al-Arish, preparing for their subsequent entry into Gaza.
This initiative is part of the UAE’s “Operation Knight 3,” aimed at supporting the healthcare needs of the region.
This initiative comes in response to the increasing demand for critical case transportation to the UAE field hospital in Gaza, which stands as a primary healthcare provider offering comprehensive services, including emergency and treatment for injured and sick Palestinians.
The UAE field hospital boasts a specialized medical team experienced in pediatrics, general surgery, and intensive care. It is equipped with surgical rooms ready for various surgeries in general, pediatric, and orthopedic surgery, along with intensive care units for adults and children.
The hospital also offers specialized clinics covering internal medicine, dentistry, orthopedics, psychiatry, family medicine, and pediatrics, complemented by support medical services like CT scans, X-rays, pharmacy, and a laboratory furnished with the latest equipment for a wide range of tests and analyses, enhancing its capability to provide holistic treatment to patients in line with the highest international standards and protocols.
To date, the UAE field hospital, supported by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Emirates Red Crescent, has treated 3,575 cases, showcasing the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian aid and medical support in the Gaza Strip.
