The office of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Sunday that Canada will allocate CAD 169 million (about USD 130 million) to support various reconstruction and development programs in Ukraine.

Following Trudeau’s visit to Kyiv, a statement released by his office, as reported by the official Ukrainian news agency (Ukraine Form), outlined the specifics of the financial aid.

According to the announcement, Canada will dedicate CAD 75 million, equivalent to over USD 57 million, towards peace and security initiatives including mine clearance, cyber support, and intelligence assistance.

An additional CAD 15 million (about USD 11.5 million) is earmarked for the completion of the National Museum that narrates the history of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The funding package also includes nearly USD 17 million for humanitarian aid, USD 30 million for developmental assistance, and around USD 14 million aimed at stabilization efforts which encompass chemical weapons reduction and combating information warfare.

Moreover, USD 15 million will be allocated to various stabilization endeavors supporting projects ranging from mine clearance to mitigating threats posed by nuclear, radiological, and chemical materials, as well as countering misinformation.
