A senior Palestinian official, Hussein Al-Sheikh, has called on the international community to declare the far-right Israeli political party Otzma Yehudit as a “terrorist party.”

The call comes after a member of the party, Itamar Ben-Gvir, was arrested in connection with the shooting of a Palestinian citizen in the village of Burqa, Ramallah district.

Al-Sheikh cited the party’s history of inciting violence against Palestinians as the reason for the call, urging international institutions to include the party in their terrorist lists.

The incident has further heightened tensions in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, drawing attention to the actions of extremist groups in the region.
