In the midst of heightened tensions on Lebanon’s southern border with Israel, Lebanon has once again asserted its demand for Israel’s immediate and unconditional withdrawal from several points and areas that are still occupied within Lebanon’s internationally recognized territory.

The call for withdrawal is based on the international borders drawn and documented with the United Nations.

In a recent statement, Lebanon reaffirmed the legitimacy of its borders, referencing the Bouleh-Newcombe Agreement of 1923, and emphasized that the official maps related to the agreement have been deposited with the United Nations.

The country stressed its commitment to international legitimacy and all relevant resolutions, particularly those aimed at ending the Israeli occupation and violations.

The statement comes as tensions escalate on the southern border between Lebanon and the Israeli occupation.

There have been emerging calls for border demarcation between the two sides, similar to the past maritime border dispute that occurred last year.

The situation remains sensitive as Lebanon seeks to assert its territorial integrity and calls for Israel to comply with international law and recognized borders.

The ongoing tensions underscore the complexities of the long-standing border dispute between the two neighboring countries.
