Syrian President Bashar al-Assad emphasized the legitimacy of resistance against all forms of occupation, aggression, and mass killing during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his delegation.

Assad highlighted the strategic relationship between Syria and Iran, noting its importance in confronting threats to the region, particularly Israel’s continued occupation of Arab lands and its daily crimes against civilians in Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria.

Assad underscored that resistance, backed by popular support, is a legitimate right. He praised Iran’s recent strong response to Israeli violations, stating it sent a clear message that the axis of resistance can deter Israel and thwart its plans.

He also stressed that the only solution to Israel’s actions is to stop the bloodshed and return legitimate rights to their owners. Assad and Araqchi discussed ways to end Israeli aggression in Lebanon and emphasized the need to support the displaced due to the conflict. Araqchi reiterated confidence in Lebanon and Palestine’s resistance and called for coordination with other nations to halt Israeli attacks.
