President Joe Biden declared that the United States “fully supports” Israel following the massive ballistic missile attack launched by Iran on Tuesday evening, which was “repelled” and proved to be “ineffective.”

Speaking to reporters at the outset of a meeting at the White House concerning the management of damage caused by Hurricane Helen, Biden stated, “The United States supports Israel fully, completely.”

He also mentioned ongoing discussions about how Israel should respond to the Iranian missile attack, noting that the consequences for Tehran have yet to be determined.
From the White House, Biden indicated that he would speak with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, noting that the Iranian attack seems ineffective.

In parallel, Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for the presidential election, “affirmed her steadfast commitment to the security of Israel” following the significant rocket attack on the Jewish state by Iran.

Harris stated, “We will not hesitate at all in making the necessary decisions to defend American forces and interests against Iran and the terrorists it supports.”

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared that Tuesday evening’s missile attack on Israel was in retaliation for last week’s assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in July, threatening “crushing attacks” if Israel responds.
The Revolutionary Guard stated in a release by Fars News Agency, “In response to the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah, and Abbas Nilforoushan, we targeted the heart of the occupied territories (Israel).”

This attack, the second launched by Iran against Israel after the April attack—which Tehran said was in “self-defense” following an assault that destroyed its consulate in Damascus and killed seven soldiers—targeted three military bases around Tel Aviv.
The statement confirmed that “90% of the missiles succeeded in hitting their targets.”
