The French government has called upon its citizens residing in Lebanon to leave the country due to potential military escalation in the Middle East, according to a travel advisory issued by the foreign ministry on Sunday.

The advisory also reiterated the ministry’s recommendation against traveling to Lebanon.

Kuwait Airways announced on Saturday the suspension of all flights to Beirut starting Sunday due to the current situation in the region.

The company stated that its last flight to the Lebanese capital, Beirut, will be at 12 noon local time in Kuwait City.

In a post on its official account on the platform formerly known as Twitter, now X, the company said: “Kuwait Airways announces the operation of its last flight from Beirut to Kuwait on Sunday, 4/8/2024, for passengers wishing to return.

Passengers will be accepted starting four hours before the scheduled departure time, or they can modify their booking times through Kuwait Airways’ ticket reservation channels…”

The company did not specify when flights would resume.

Other airlines, including Air France and Lufthansa, have also canceled their flights to Beirut amid growing concerns of regional escalation following the Israeli strike in Beirut that targeted a senior Hezbollah leader and the killing of the head of Hamas’s political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, in Iran.
