Iran Warns Israel Over Regional Tension

Head of Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, Kamal Kharrazi, warned Tel Aviv about escalating tensions in the region, suggesting that Netanyahu should end the brutal war in the Gaza Strip.

Kharrazi dismissed Israel’s claim about the incident in the occupied Golan as a repetition of its previous allegations following the bombing of Al-Mamadani Hospital in Gaza, which resulted in the martyrdom of 500 civilians.

“Israel now aims to expand the war by accusing Hezbollah of the attack on the occupied Golan,” Kharrazi stated. He called the Zionists’ claim ridiculous, noting that the residents of the occupied Golan oppose the Zionist regime and protested during the Israeli premier’s visit.

“How could Hezbollah, Syria’s ally, attack the loyal residents of Syrian Golan? This is a conspiracy. If Israel gambles on this issue, it will face strong responses,” he warned.

Kharrazi stressed that Netanyahu should end the brutal war in Gaza, asserting that continuing and expanding the war would yield no results. He previously warned that an all-out offensive against Hezbollah could trigger a regional war, with Tehran and the “Axis of Resistance” supporting the Lebanese movement.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Kharrazi emphasized that Iran is not interested in a regional war and urged the US to pressure Israel to prevent further escalation. He confirmed that if a full-blown conflict arose, Iran and the Axis of Resistance would support Lebanon against Israel.

“The war’s expansion is not in anyone’s interest — not Iran’s or the US’s,” Kharrazi said, adding that such a situation would compel Iran to support Hezbollah by all means.

Amid intensified Israeli rhetoric against Hezbollah, the Lebanese movement informed the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) on Saturday to caution Tel Aviv against any foolish move to widen the war.
