Greek airline Aegean Airlines and German airline Condor have canceled their flights to Beirut on Tuesday, following similar actions by other airlines in recent days due to escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah.
Aegean Airlines announced that it would suspend its flights until Thursday, while Condor canceled its Tuesday flight from Düsseldorf.
On Monday, Air France, Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, and Eurowings, all part of the Lufthansa Group, also canceled their flights.
Several other airlines have announced suspensions, delays, or cancellations of some flights. Despite this, Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport listed arrivals on Tuesday from airlines such as Pegasus, Emirates, Royal Jordanian, EgyptAir, Iran Air, Qatar Airways, and Etihad Airways.
Lebanon is facing the threat of retaliatory strikes from Israel following an attack last Saturday on the occupied Golan Heights that resulted in the deaths of 12 children and young people. Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the attack.
