The UAE affirmed its full solidarity with France, highlighting the need to restore calm, de-escalation, and respect for the rules and principles of law in the European country.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs asserted its confidence in France’s ability to overcome the current riots, adding that France is considered a model country in prioritizing the interests of its citizens.
Additionally, the ministry emphasized the UAE’s position in support of stability and security in France and urged the protection of civil facilities and state institutions.
Last Tuesday, Nahel M, 17, was shot dead during a traffic stop, which sparked violent protests across Paris.
Around 45,000 police were deployed across the country for a second night on Saturday. Over 1,300 arrests were made on Friday night and more than 900 on Thursday.
Earlier this week, the French authorities announced that a young man, 20, died late Friday after falling from the roof of a store during violent protests in northwestern France.
Police revealed that the man crashed through the roof of a shopping mall while appearing to try and break into a supermarket.
