RSF Targets Khartoum Military Sites

Eyewitnesses report a resurgence of clashes across various parts of Sudan’s capital, Khartoum, with rising smoke clouds in the eastern districts.

According to these accounts, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have launched heavy artillery attacks on army positions in the “General Command” area and the “Signal Corps” in Bahri city, north of the capital.

The intensity of the confrontations between the army and the RSF has notably increased, particularly around the Engineers Corps and the historic districts of Omdurman, west of Khartoum. This escalation marks a significant uptick in the ongoing conflict within the capital.

Despite the army’s announcement three days ago claiming the reclamation of areas adjacent to the strategic Engineers Corps, the RSF released video clips showing their fighters at one of the main gates of the Engineers Corps headquarters.

This development challenges the army’s control and highlights the volatile security situation in Khartoum.

This resurgence of violence in Khartoum underscores the fragile state of peace in the region, with both sides engaging in a power struggle that has significant implications for Sudan’s stability and the safety of its citizens.

The international community watches closely as the situation unfolds, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
