Tunisian President Kais Saied on Friday reiterated his country’s support for the unity of the Libyan state, stressing that any foreign intervention in Libyan affairs would only complicate the situation.

President Saied made the remarks during a meeting with Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar to discuss the results of Tunisia’s participation in the African Union High-Level Committee meeting on Libya, which was held in Brazzaville, Congo on February 5.

President Saied emphasized that Tunisia’s stance remains firm, advocating that the solution in Libya must be purely Libyan, emanating from the will of the Libyan people alone. He noted that some conferences held without representatives of the Libyan people failed to reach any resolution.

Furthermore, the Tunisian President directed the need for coordination between Tunisian missions abroad and relevant domestic administrations to expedite the provision of services to Tunisian citizens overseas under the best possible conditions.
