Leaders & high officials from over 60 countries will gather in London next week at the Second International Conference on Ukraine’s Reconstruction.

At the conference’s opening, which is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is expected to emphasize to the participants the significance of Ukraine’s economic reconstruction.

As per a statement released by Downing Street, Sunak will stress that Ukraine’s bravery on the battlefield must go hand in hand with the private sector’s vision for assisting the nation in rebuilding and recovery.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is slated to deliver a video address at the conference.

Among the political leaders expected to attend are European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and his French counterpart, Catherine Colonna.

Over a year into the conflict, the World Bank estimated Ukraine’s urgent needs at $14 billion for the repair of damage caused by the fighting. However, the nation’s economic recovery is projected to cost $441 billion. This figure is expected to rise as the conflict persists.

In the same vein, the UK plans to unveil initiatives in the technology and green energy sectors during the conference, aiming to facilitate collaboration between British and Ukrainian companies.
