In a recent display of civil activism, protesters have disrupted operations at the Port of Tacoma in the United States. On Monday, they aimed to delay a military vessel laden with armaments, which they suspect is en route to Israel.

Activists rallying for Palestinian support called for a ceasefire in Gaza. They congregated on the docks where the military supply ship recently arrived, chanting slogans advocating for Palestinian freedom.

The protesters stated their opposition to warfare, targeting the vessel “Cape Orlando” based on undisclosed intelligence indicating that it was transporting weapons to Israel. These claims have yet to be verified.

In response to the upheaval, Lieutenant Colonel Brion McGarry, a spokesperson for the Department of Defense, communicated via email that for security reasons, the department does not provide details of transit or movements of such ships.

This event marks a significant moment of unrest in Tacoma, reflecting a growing concern among citizens over the international arms trade and its implications.

As tensions rise at the port, security measures are in place, and the Department of Defense remains tight-lipped, ensuring operational security despite public dissent.
