A popular fundraising campaign for the relief of Palestinians in Gaza, now in its fourth day, has breached the SAR 300 million mark, bolstered by contributions from over half a million individuals.

The campaign was kick-started by significant donations from Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz, who contributed SAR 30 million, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, who added a generous SAR 20 million.

The humanitarian initiative was inaugurated last Thursday by Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

Dr Al-Rabeeah confirmed that donations are being collected through the “Sahem” platform, affiliated with the King Salman Relief Centre, as well as through a dedicated bank account set up for the campaign.

The Saudi-led campaign for Palestinian relief reflects the Kingdom’s enduring commitment to supporting those in need across the globe, a stance in line with its humanitarian and ethical principles.

The Ministry of Interior has reiterated that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre is the sole entity authorized to handle and deliver donations from Saudi Arabia to foreign entities.

The Ministry has also issued a warning against unlicensed collection of donations, stating such activities are in violation of the Kingdom’s regulations and could subject those involved to legal accountability.

This surge in philanthropy exemplifies the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s historical support for the Palestinian people, continuing its role as a prominent benefactor in the region and beyond.

The campaign underscores a unified response to the humanitarian needs of Gazans, showcasing a commitment to relief efforts amidst ongoing regional challenges.
