In a recent military operation conducted in the southwest of Somalia, the Somali Army reported the killing of 25 militants affiliated with the Al-Shabaab movement.
The operation, which took place on Tuesday, targeted a gathering of Al-Shabaab militants in the southwest province of Bakool, as they were preparing to carry out an armed attack. During the operation, 25 militants were killed, and several others were injured.
The mayor of Wajid city confirmed that among the dead, five were foreign fighters belonging to the extremist group.
He also stated that some of the wounded militants managed to escape, but the army is actively pursuing them.
