A report from the Disaster Risk Management Unit within the Lebanese Cabinet revealed that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon has risen to 2,418 since the beginning of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah on October 8, 2023. The total number of injuries has now reached 11,336. According to the report released on Friday, six people were killed and 69 others injured in the last 24 hours due to Israeli airstrikes. The report also noted that 87 airstrikes targeted various regions in Lebanon during this period, with the majority focusing on the southern part of the country.

In parallel, the Israeli military stated that Hezbollah launched about 75 rockets from Lebanon into northern Israel, and two drones were intercepted before entering Israeli airspace. The Israeli military also reported that approximately 60 Hezbollah fighters were killed in airstrikes and confrontations near the border over the past 24 hours.

Since October 2023, the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has intensified, leading to widespread airstrikes across Lebanon. Israeli strikes have targeted southern regions and critical infrastructure like border crossings, significantly impacting humanitarian efforts. The attacks have forced hundreds of thousands of people, including Lebanese citizens and Syrian refugees, to flee their homes, creating a severe displacement crisis. Many of these displaced individuals have sought refuge in Syria, despite the risks associated with returning there after years of conflict.

The humanitarian situation in Lebanon has deteriorated rapidly, with limited support from local and international aid organizations due to ongoing security risks.
Many medical facilities have been targeted, leading to shortages in essential services and supplies, which has exacerbated the suffering of those affected by the conflict. Aid agencies like the UNHCR and local NGOs are attempting to provide assistance, but the scale of the crisis has strained their resources. The crisis has drawn international concern, with calls for protecting civilians and upholding international humanitarian law amid the hostilities
