Two Japan Airlines (JAL) planes collided at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on Thursday morning, causing minor damage but no injuries.

The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. when JAL Flight 503, scheduled to fly to New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido, was reversing out of its parking spot and clipped the wing of another JAL aircraft moving into an adjacent spot.

JAL reported that Flight 503 had 328 passengers on board and was subsequently canceled.

The second aircraft, which had no passengers at the time, experienced a delay as it was replaced for its scheduled flight.

JAL issued an apology for the inconvenience caused to its passengers and assured that safety remains a top priority.

This collision is part of a troubling pattern of recent airfield incidents, including a Korean Air plane clipping a parked Cathay Pacific aircraft at New Chitose Airport in January and two All Nippon Airways jets bumping wings at an Osaka airport in February.
