In a disturbing turn of events, an explosion rocked the region of Afrin, situated in Aleppo’s northern countryside, earlier this Saturday, leading to multiple casualties.
According to local sources available on various social media platforms, the explosion directly resulted in the tragic death of two individuals, while several others sustained injuries.
The origins of this blast are reportedly linked to the detonation of ammunitions and projectiles at an old facility used for preparing explosive materials.
Other details, emerging from different sources, highlight a grim picture where two militants, involved in bomb-making with an armed faction, were among the deceased.
Meanwhile, six other individuals suffered injuries due to an unintended detonation of a mine they possessed inside a residential area house, which was being used as a makeshift workshop for assembling explosive devices.
The incident underscores the volatile nature of the region and raises concerns about the safety of civilians in proximity to such hazardous operations. The local authorities are anticipated to conduct further investigations to prevent the recurrence of such tragic events in the future.
