The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported that 198 Palestinians have been killed and more than 1,600 others injured due to Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

The “Shifa” hospital in Gaza received several bodies, leading to a somber atmosphere among the local residents, while Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple areas in the region.

Hamas and Palestinian factions launched a surprise attack on Israel today, involving the firing of thousands of rockets into cities in central and southern Israel.

Fighters also infiltrated Israeli towns and settlements near the Gaza Strip.

Avichay Adraee, the spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), announced the launch of “Operation Iron Swords” against the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip in response to the attack.

Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom confirmed that at least 40 people have been killed in wide-scale Hamas attacks on Israel.

The Israeli Ministry of Health reported that 779 injured individuals have been transported to hospitals.

Additionally, Israel’s Channel 12 reported that there are “about 50 hostages” held by Hamas in the Biri neighborhood near the Gaza border.
