In a recent development, the international coalition forces successfully thwarted a drone attack launched by Iranian-backed factions on the Al-Shaddadi base in the northeastern Syrian province of Al-Hasakah.
This incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, as reported by the Arab World News Agency.
The Syrian Observatory noted that this attempted assault on the base came shortly after Iran-backed militias targeted the Al-Tanf base near the tri-border area of Syria, Iraq, and Jordan. Additionally, they targeted the Koniko base in northern Deir ez-Zor with drones and rocket shells.
Furthermore, the observatory reported explosions at the American base within the Koniko gas field in the Deir ez-Zor countryside. These explosions were a result of an attack involving drones and rocket shells launched from the western banks of the Euphrates River, which are under the control of Syrian regime forces and Iran-affiliated militias.
The observatory also mentioned that ground defenses at the base intercepted incoming threats in the region’s skies. However, there is no information available at this time regarding human or material losses resulting from these events.
