Reports indicate a violent clash has erupted between US forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces on one side and the Syrian Army and its allies on the other in the eastern Syrian province of Deir al-Zor.

According to reports published by “Al-Mayadeen,” fierce clashes took place between US forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces on one front and the Syrian Army and its allies on the western banks of the Euphrates River.

The US forces announced that they conducted an airstrike on the city of Deir al-Zor in eastern Syria in response to a series of attacks targeting American bases in Syria and Iraq.

As reported by “Al-Mayadeen,” citing sources on Thursday, the eastern part of Deir al-Zor city in eastern Syria was subjected to an airstrike involving four missiles.

Sources explained that the aggression targeted the outskirts of Deir al-Zor city from the direction of Port Said Street and Harabish, with the missiles hitting a bakery and empty warehouses.

The Pentagon quickly claimed responsibility for the attack. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, in a statement, announced that the United States carried out strikes authorized by President Joe Biden, alleging that they targeted a weapons storage facility used by the “Quds Force” of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and affiliated groups.

In this article, we cover the recent intense clashes between US forces and Syrian factions in Deir al-Zor, shedding light on the events leading up to the confrontation and the response from both sides. The US airstrikes and their alleged targets are also discussed. Stay tuned for updates on this developing situation.
