On Monday, the United Nations issued a plea for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire to halt the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.

It’s worth noting that French President Emmanuel Macron recently announced that France is aligning with Egypt’s efforts to reopen the Rafah border crossing. In a tweet from his official account, Macron stated that Paris would soon dispatch a “special flight” carrying emergency humanitarian assistance for the Palestinians.

Last Friday, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron. During the call, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in the current military escalation in the Gaza Strip and efforts to contain the situation.

President Macron praised Egypt’s efforts in this regard, especially its leadership role in coordinating the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Both leaders emphasized the utmost importance of ensuring a continuous flow of aid to mitigate the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza. They also agreed on the seriousness of the current situation, particularly given the unpredictable consequences of expanding the conflict on regional stability.
