German Finance Minister Christian Lindner stated on Sunday that Berlin expects to provide financial assistance to Ukraine amounting to around five billion euros ($5.44 billion) annually.
Germany has been one of the largest donors to Ukraine since the onset of the war with Russia and has pledged to continue its support as long as the need persists.
In May, Germany announced military aid for Ukraine valued at 2.7 billion euros, which included tanks and drones.
Initially, Germany was hesitant to provide heavy weaponry to Ukraine to aid against Russian forces, fearing that it might escalate the conflict.
