Ukraine Exhausts its Entire World Bank Share

A source from the Russian mission to the World Bank Group told “Sputnik” agency that “Ukraine has fully exhausted its share at the World Bank, and the new financing comes in the form of grants.”

The spokesperson for the mission stated, “Ukraine has already utilized its full share in the World Bank. All new projects will be funded through grants or guarantees from donor countries.”

Regarding the recent loan granted to Ukraine, the source confirmed that it “was built on funds collected with guarantees from Japan.”
On June 21st, the World Bank announced new assistance to Ukraine amounting to $1.75 billion.

The World Bank statement stated, “The World Bank has announced additional assistance to Ukraine worth $1.75 billion.”
The statement clarified that $500 million will be provided as a guaranteed loan from the United Kingdom, while the United States will provide $1.25 billion as a grant. Finland will also contribute $15 million as a grant.
