Yahya Saree, the spokesman of Yemen’s Ansar Allah Rebel Movement, also known as Houthis, revealed on Sunday that the number of American strikes on Yemen has surged to 48, with multiple governorates being targeted in the country. In a statement posted on his account on platform ‘X,’ Saree referred to the airstrikes as part of the “US-UKaggression” and provided a breakdown of the locations hit during the recent operations.
According to the Ansar Allah spokesman:
13 raids were conducted on Amanat Al-Asimah and Sana’a Governorate.
9 raids targeted Hodeidah Governorate.
11 raids were carried out in Taiz Governorate.
7 raids struck Al Bayda Governorate.
7 raids were reported in Hajjah Governorate.
A single raid was documented in Saada Governorate.
The announcement comes after the United States and UK conducted strikes on 36 targets in Yemen on the previous day.
These operations represent the second day of actions against groups associated with Iran, following an attack on American forces earlier in the week, resulting in the deaths of three soldiers.
The Pentagon clarified that the strikes specifically targeted underground facilities used by the Houthis to store weapons, missile launchers, and other capabilities employed in attacks on shipping in the Red Sea. The operations covered 13 locations across Yemen.
The ongoing military actions are part of broader efforts to counter perceived threats and maintain regional security.
