Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Gas, a global leader in gas processing, announced today the signing of a 5-year agreement for liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply with Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (Japex).
The agreement, valued between AED 1.65 billion (USD 450 million) and AED 2 billion (USD 550 million), underscores the longstanding bilateral relationship between the United Arab Emirates and Japan.
ADNOC has a remarkable track record of enhancing strategic partnerships with Japanese energy companies.
Commenting on this occasion, Ahmed Al Arbri, CEO of ADNOCGas, stated, “Japan is one of the most important and significant energy partners for the UAE. We are pleased to contribute to strengthening this relationship by entering into an agreement with Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (Japex).
“This move solidifies our position as a preferred global supplier of LNG, reflecting Adnoc Gas’s growing presence in international markets, particularly the Asian market,” he added.
LNG plays a pivotal role as a transitional fuel due to its lower carbon emissions compared to other fossil fuels. It also serves as a crucial raw material source for industrial value chains.
ADNOC Gas will continue capitalizing on the opportunities presented by ADNOC’s integrated gas strategy. This strategy aims to connect the components of the gas value chain in the UAE to ensure a sustainable and economical supply of natural gas, meeting the increasing demand in both local and global markets.
