Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Belgrade on Saturday to discuss various aspects of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.
During their meeting, the two leaders explored ambitious opportunities to enhance and expand this partnership to serve the mutual interests of both countries. Additionally, they discussed several regional and international issues of common concern, according to the Emirates News Agency.
President Vučić welcomed Sheikh Mohamed and his accompanying delegation during their working visit to Serbia, expressing that the visit represents a significant boost to the development of the strategic partnership between the UAE and Serbia across various sectors, meeting the aspirations of both peoples for greater prosperity and development.
The meeting highlighted the evolving strategic partnership between the UAE and Serbia, particularly in investment, economic, and trade sectors, as well as in technology, food security, and renewable energy. The two leaders discussed opportunities for diverse collaborations in these areas.
They also addressed several regional and international issues of shared interest, underscoring the importance of finding peaceful solutions to global crises that hinder development and prosperity on both regional and global levels.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE’s belief in the importance of dialogue and cooperation to resolve disputes peacefully, emphasizing the UAE’s commitment to peace and stability in the Balkans and the importance it places on its relationship with Serbia.
He noted that UAE-Serbia relations have grown significantly, particularly after the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership. Sheikh Mohamed stressed that the UAE believes in the close link between development, peace, stability, and cooperation among nations, and that economic, investment, and trade cooperation between countries is the key path toward a better future for people worldwide.
He emphasized that the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Serbia is a significant milestone that enhances economic cooperation at both the government and private sector levels, increasing trade and investment between the two countries. He noted that Serbia’s inclusion in the UAE’s economic partnership program reflects the mutual recognition of numerous opportunities that both countries can seize for a better future for their peoples.
