The United Arab Emirates has officially joined the Global Biofuel Alliance, a coalition initiated by India, the United Kingdom, and the United States with the aim of advancing the development and utilization of sustainable biofuels.
The announcement was made by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazroui, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE, through his official Twitter account.
He emphasized that the UAE is making substantial investments in biofuels as part of its commitment to diversifying the energy mix and reducing its carbon footprint.
Minister Al Mazroui actively participated in the 14th Ministerial Meeting on Clean Energy and the 8th Innovation Mission, held in Goa, India.
Leading the UAE delegation in both meetings, he shed light on the nation’s priorities for the upcoming 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28), scheduled to take place in Dubai later this year.
Additionally, the UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure engaged in a roundtable discussion on green hydrogen in Goa, India.
The meeting aimed to define short and long-term goals and measures to expand the contribution of green hydrogen in achieving climate neutrality, while devising strategies to boost supply and demand for this eco-friendly energy source.
During the gathering, Minister Al Mazroui stressed that accelerating the hydrogen economy has become a top global priority, outlining the objectives of the recently announced National Hydrogen Strategy.
