As part of the United Arab Emirates’ ongoing support for displaced Palestinian families, its humanitarian arm, “Gallant Knight 3,” has distributed food supplies to thousands of displaced families suffering from the ravages of war, lack of aid, and scarce markets with high prices for basic necessities. This humanitarian effort aims to alleviate their suffering amid the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of the war.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on Sunday, the “Gallant Knight 3” operation provided a range of food items, including chicken, fresh vegetables, bread, dates, and food parcels to needy displaced families in the city of Khan Younis.
The relief campaign reached 9,000 beneficiaries, distributing food supplies to aid the displaced and alleviate their suffering at a time when families are struggling significantly to obtain food due to the dire conditions prevailing in the stricken region.
The UAE aims to reach the largest number of displaced individuals to provide humanitarian assistance and alleviate the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip following the halt of aid deliveries, which has increased the likelihood of a real famine affecting the entire population of the region, according to estimates from international relief organizations.
Since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, the UAE has been actively involved in providing humanitarian aid to Gaza. The UAE, in collaboration with Egypt and other countries, has continued to airdrop tons of humanitarian aid and food onto the northern area of the Gaza Strip. This region, home to over 300,000 Palestinians, has faced acute starvation due to the ongoing siege and blockade by Israel.
Efforts have included distributing essential food items, medical supplies, and other necessary aid to support the displaced population. These initiatives have been part of a broader collaboration with international countries and organizations to ensure sustained humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza. The UAE’s significant aid contributions have been crucial in addressing the severe humanitarian challenges faced by the residents of Gaza during this conflict.
