On Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described Israel as a “Zionist terrorist organisation,” emphasising that “everyone should know that Israel is a Zionist terrorist organisation.”
Erdogan added that Israel, under Prime Minister Netanyahu and his “gang,” aims to expand the war to include other countries.
President Erdogan accused Western countries that support Israel of being “partners in mass atrocities,” stating, “We are well aware of Israel’s intentions and actions in the region.”
On Tuesday, the Turkish President declared that “Israel will sooner or later pay the price for the genocide it has been committing for a year” in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Erdogan claimed, “Israel has brutally killed about 50,000 children and women in Gaza, who were alive just 365 days ago.”
He continued, “Hospitals, places of worship for various religions, and schools in Gaza no longer exist. Many journalists, representatives of civil society organizations, and peace ambassadors are no longer among us.”
This strong condemnation from the president highlights ongoing tensions in the region, reflecting Turkey’s increasingly critical stance towards Israel’s actions in Gaza.
The Red Crescent reported that more than 10,000 Palestinians are still missing under the rubble in the Gaza Strip.
This announcement comes just after the first anniversary of the onset of the war in the region.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the death toll from the Israeli offensive on Gaza has reached 41,909, with 97,303 injuries recorded since October 7 last year.
The Health Ministry also confirmed that many victims remain under debris and along roadsides, unreachable by emergency and civil defense teams due to ongoing conflicts.
Israeli forces continue to carry out daily airstrikes and artillery shelling across Gaza, from north to south, targeting residential areas, mosques, schools, and tents sheltering displaced individuals.
