Turkish Treasury and Finance Minister, Mehmet Şimşek, embarks on a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today, Wednesday, to discuss economic cooperation between the two nations.
As reported by Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, Minister Şimşek is slated to hold multiple meetings during his visit to the Kingdom. The report also highlights that the Central Bank Governor, Hafize Gaye Erkan, will accompany Şimşek on his visit.
The visit underscores the importance of fostering economic ties and strengthening bilateral relations between Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
Earlier this month, Saudi Arabia welcomed the restoration of diplomatic ties between Egypt and Turkey signaling a normalization of relations between both countries after a decade of tension.
Egypt and Turkey had announced on Tuesday that they have appointed ambassadors to each other’s capitals for the first time in a decade to restore normal diplomatic relations.
