Ibrahim Yumakli, the Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, expressed Turkey’s desire to enhance cooperation with Rabat based on mutual interests, as reported by the Turkish news agency Anadolu.
During an event organized by the Moroccan Embassy in Ankara on the occasion of the Throne Day celebration, the Turkish official stated that the trade volume between the two countries has significantly increased since the signing of the free trade agreement in 2004, surpassing four billion dollars at present.
The Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry highlighted that this agreement has positively contributed to the rise of Turkish investments in Morocco, with over 160 Turkish companies currently operating there. He also expressed Ankara’s eagerness to increase Moroccan investments in Turkey.
Moroccan Ambassador to Turkey, Mohammed Ali Al-Azraq, praised the level of Moroccan-Turkish relations, characterized by mutual respect and alignment on international issues, as both countries aim to boost bilateral cooperation on all levels.
It is worth mentioning that Rabat and Ankara signed the free trade agreement in 2004, which came into effect in 2006.
