WhatsApp launched the screen lock feature to a limited group of users that joined the beta program of WhatsApp Web beta, according to Wabetainfo.
To know if this feature is enabled for your WhatsApp account, you can open WhatsApp Web on your computer by scanning the QR code with your smartphone.
Once logged in, locate the three dots in the top-left corner, click on them, and select “Settings.” Within the settings menu, find and click on “Security.”
If the feature is available for your account, you will see the “Screen Lock” option. Click on it. Enter a password of your choice and select the preferred duration before the screen lock activates.
When enabled, you will have to enter a password to unlock WhatsApp Web.
The new tool ensures that even if someone gains access to your computer while you’re away, they won’t be able to access your WhatsApp chats and messages without entering the password.
It helps users maintain the confidentiality of their conversations by enhancing privacy and preventing unauthorized users from viewing their personal information.
Meanwhile, the screen lock feature is available to some users that use the latest version of WhatsApp Web beta, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming weeks.
