Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson recently disclosed Sweden’s strategic plans to bolster national security in light of escalating anti-Islam provocations within the Scandinavian nation.

Scheduled for approval on Thursday, a pioneering legislation granting extensive police powers for identity verification, vehicle inspection, and body searches at the borders is set to be introduced.

Additionally, the nation will bolster its electronic border surveillance capabilities to thwart any potential threats.

The new measures aim to thwart the entry of individuals with tenuous connections to Sweden, who may intend to commit crimes or jeopardize national security.

Recent anti-Islam “protests,” where a few individuals have desecrated the Muslim holy Quran, have brought Sweden and neighboring Denmark under international scrutiny.

The persisting provocations have ignited widespread fury across the Muslim world, raising concerns among Swedish security experts who fear the emergence of serious threats from individuals associated with violent Islamist circles.

Emphasizing the significance of keeping perceived threats at bay, Kristersson underlined the paramount importance of impeding the entry of such individuals into the country.

Accompanied by Justice Minister Gunnar Strommer during a press conference in Stockholm, Kristersson highlighted that border controls play a pivotal role in identifying and intercepting potential security threats before they materialize.
