Turkish Defense Minister Yashar Guler announced on Wednesday that Turkey is planning to establish a security corridor, 30-40 kilometers deep, along its borders with Syria and Iraq.

In an interview with “Politico,” as reported by the Anadolu Agency, Minister Guler stated that Turkey will continue its operations to “completely clear the region of terrorists.”

This declaration aligns with Turkey’s previously stated determination to create a 30-40 kilometer deep security belt along its Syrian border.

Turkey has repeatedly emphasized its commitment to combating terrorism both domestically and internationally.

The Turkish government asserts that its military operations have prevented the establishment of a “terrorist state” along its southern borders.

Ankara has conducted three major military operations in Syria, targeting Kurdish fighters.

These operations have enabled Turkey to gain control over large swaths of territory in collaboration with allied local factions.

This move underscores Turkey’s ongoing strategy to secure its borders and counter perceived terrorist threats in the region.
