Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the Head of the Sovereign Council, has replaced two state governors, the SUNA news agency reported.
Burhan dismissed North Kordofan state governor, Fadlallah Mohamed Ali Al-Tom, and Sennar state’s Al-Alim Ibrahim Al-Nour. Meanwhile, Caretaker governors have been appointed.
The agency did not unveil the reasons for the dismissals.
Earlier this week, the leader of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) expressed full support and commitment to the ongoing talks in Jeddah to end the fighting in Sudan.
The United States and Saudi Arabia called on the Sudanese army and the RSF to resume talks, urging both sides to commit to a ceasefire in order to protect civilians signed.
The RSF leader spoke with the Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan to welcome the call for the resumption of the indirect talks.
“I assured His Highness The Prince of our support for the Jeddah process and our full commitment to the Declaration on the Protection of Civilians and the continuation of facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of our people,” Mohamed Hamdan said.
