Saudi Arabia’s cybersecurity capabilities have been recognised as the second-best globally, according to the Cybersecurity Index in the World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY) for 2023.
The index, compiled by the International Institute for Management Development (IIMD) based in Switzerland, highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to cybersecurity and its rise in the overall competitiveness ranking.
With a significant jump of seven places from the previous year, Saudi Arabia now holds the 17th position in the overall competitiveness ranking.
This achievement further solidifies the kingdom’s position as one of the top economies in the world for cybersecurity.
The recognition by IIMD reflects the concerted efforts of entities like the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), which plays a crucial role as one of Saudi Arabia’s key national security enablers.
The NCA has implemented various initiatives to establish a robust and sustainable cybersecurity ecosystem within the country.
The Kingdom’s dedication to cybersecurity has also garnered international recognition, with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) designating Saudi Arabia as a global leader in this field. In the ITU’s Global Cyber Security Index, Saudi Arabia holds an impressive second position.
