The Saudi Ambassador to Iran reaffirmed the importance of enhancing relations, intensifying communication, and fostering meetings between Saudi Arabia and Iran, emphasizing the two countries’ neighborly ties.
Ambassador Abdullah bin Saud Al-Anazi made these remarks upon his arrival in the Iranian capital, Tehran, today.
He stated, “The directives of our wise leadership, may God support them, stress the significance of strengthening relations, enhancing communication, and fostering meetings between the Kingdom and Iran, paving the way for broader prospects.”
“Both nations are neighbors and possess numerous economic resources and natural advantages that can contribute to the enhancement of development, prosperity, stability, and security in the region, resulting in mutual benefit for both countries and their fraternal peoples.”
He further underscored that Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, initiated by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, represents a roadmap that reflects all facets of cooperation that can be built upon to strengthen collaboration between the two countries.
This strategic perspective solidifies principles of good neighborliness, understanding, constructive and purposeful dialogue, and mutual respect, fostering increased mutual trust, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
Iranian Ambassador Ali Reza Enayati also arrived in Riyadh, prepared to assume his duties as Iran’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
Sources from Al Arabiya reported the arrival of a diplomatic delegation accompanying the Iranian ambassador to receive his responsibilities from the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires, who had been overseeing the Iranian embassy in Saudi Arabia since its reopening in June last year.
It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia and Iran reached an agreement in Beijing on March 10th to resume diplomatic relations, which had been severed between the two countries since 2016, and to reopen their diplomatic missions.
Last June, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan visited Tehran on an official visit and met with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
He highlighted at the time that “relations between both sides are based on the necessity of mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs.”
