During his address at the Arab League Summit held in Manama on Thursday, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman advocated for the creation of an internationally recognized Palestinian state. He articulated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing Arab interests and reinforcing collective Arab efforts, especially concerning the Palestinian issue.
The Crown Prince reported that a Saudi-led fundraising initiative had successfully raised over SAR 700 million to aid the Palestinian people. He detailed the Kingdom’s efforts in establishing air and sea corridors to deliver aid directly to Gaza and reiterated the ongoing support to international organizations addressing the crisis there.
Further emphasizing the need for a united stand against the harsh treatment of Palestine, he called on the global community to demand an immediate halt to the hostilities by the occupying forces and to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those in need.
The Crown Prince underscored the necessity of a fair and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian conflict, in line with UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. This solution should recognize the Palestinians’ right to form a state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as reported by SPA.
Moreover, the Crown Prince stressed the importance of peaceful conflict resolution and the security of the Red Sea, highlighting the global need for free navigation in this essential waterway. He called for an end to activities that jeopardize maritime security.
In conclusion, he expressed confidence that collaborative efforts could lead to sustainable development and prosperity across the Arab world. He also extended congratulations to Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for taking over the presidency of the 33rd Arab Summit.
