In a significant development, Russia has commenced the shipment of crude oil to Africa for the first time this year

The news was confirmed by Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov in a statement reported by the Russian news agency TASS on Thursday.

Shulginov revealed that Russia has substantially increased its sales of petroleum products to the African continent, surpassing three times the volume during the period from January to May.

This move marks a notable expansion of Russia’s presence in the African oil market.

As per the minister’s statement, Russia has already shipped 200,000 tons of crude oil to Africa, in addition to around eight million tons of petroleum products.

This indicates a growing interest in establishing stronger trade ties with African nations and potentially tapping into new markets.
