The United Nations (UN) announced that about one million children in the Gaza Strip have been forcibly displaced from their homes since the bombing of the Strip began last October.
The UN added that Gaza is the most dangerous place in the world for children to live, and there is a need for an immediate and sustainable ceasefire in the Strip.
Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), expressed grave concerns about the worsening crisis in the Gaza Strip during his visit on Tuesday.
He described the conditions faced by the residents of Gaza as living in “hell on earth,” highlighting their dire need for necessities and safety.
Rami Abduh, President of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, reported that children account for 40% of the casualties in the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip.
He stated that approximately ten thousand children have been killed due to Israeli genocidal crimes in Gaza.
Abduh mentioned that this number is unprecedented in the history of the conflict and in the history of previous wars, highlighting the daily martyrdom of 150 children.
He also noted that over 700,000 children in Gaza have been affected by the aggression. Most of the children in Gaza were direct victims of this Israeli aggression, with 17,000 children injured and about 27,000 having lost both parents, in addition to half a million Palestinian children losing their homes due to the aggression.
